we see you, and I thank you
I think I need to share the love for a bit. I’ve been in some critical conversations lately and I want to make sure that in the midst of the criticism, I have lots of appreciation for so many men in my life. I am so very thankful to be living in this country in this age - there are worse times and places to live for sure. And while I believe we have far to go in the area of gender justice, we’ve done much and I’m grateful for it.
Thanks to all the men in Christianity who stick their necks out to be a positive voice for gender justice. Thanks to the men who get called “limp wristed” because they refuse to be oppressed by the stereotype of the “American macho male”. Thanks to all the men who encourage their wives, sisters, girlfriends, mothers and female friends to shine bright using whatever gifts and talents they have. Thanks to all the dads (thanks dad) who raise their girls to be strong and bold and not settle for “second pickings”. Thanks to all of my brothers in Christ who are my biggest cheerleaders (you guys look so great in those little outfits *smirk*). Thanks to all the guys in our missional community at Revolution who serve and love and show compassion, honoring their sisters. Thanks to my husband and to all the many male friends I cherish who constantly encourage and challenge me to be all I have been created to be.
Thanks to the “blog guys” out there who are constantly a voice of reason and a voice of advocacy in the middle of some pretty crazy chaotic church times, speaking out for women to be fully functioning members of the Body in all roles and domains. Thanks to (in no particular order and not a complete list):

Thanks for this. I always feel bad when I generalize, sometimes it happens so easily when I rant, as I know it does for others.

Wow, been outta touch with the Internet for a week, and look at what I missed!
Thanks for your kind recognition of those of us who have gifted women in our lives and have campaigned for them to be all that God has called them to be. It’s humbling and encouraging at the same time to see that it’s having an effect.
