It’s been forever
…we’re still here. The new year did not rapture the Fishers (unfortunately hehe).
Aliyah is still growing like a crazy tree - she’s so tall it’s unbelievable sometimes. At her last appointment she still measured almost off the charts for height and increased her weight percentile from 30-40th which was good.
She’s healthy and happy even though she still doesn’t really talk. We took her off her reflux meds and she seems to be doing fine so that’s really good news. If she was still having symptoms at 2 we would have had to take h
er to a specialist for tests….that wouldn’t have been fun.
If her expressive language doesn’t pick up significantly in a few months I’m going to request an evaluation. She definitely communicates and has some words but very few of them are intelligible….she mostly just mumbles and garbles everything…which normally would make me think of a hearing issue but unless she’s just missing a certain frequency, she seems to hear just fine.
She LOVES her sister and they have great fun together. Shayel is very proud of being a big sister…the novelty hasn’t worn off which is great.
Shayel is becoming more and more of a little girl. Her conversations now are so mature and she is learning loads every day. Even without preschool she is definitely academically ready for kindie. Emotionally and socially she is maturing as well.
As for us, we’re still doing the same stuff - leading Revolution, David working and Group and me at home doing graphic design stuff.
Revolution is so fun and we are so blessed by what God is doing through our community. We’re going to be picking up our outreaches and mission stuff and we’re very excited about what that’s going to do for our community.
I won’t bore you with the details and frustrations of being in “church leadership”, but suffice to say, it has it’s down sides without a doubt. However, the ups strongly overwhelm the downs so in the end, we’re somewhere just above neutral. hehe….how’s that for cryptic? ![]()
So there you have it. Nothing too earth shattering to report….but then again, we like it that way.
