we be city folk here

It has become clear over the years that we are city folk. We enjoy living in the city, we enjoy the sounds of the city, I (for the most part) enjoy public transportation and we even like living in an apartment. We do not like yard work, we’re not “handy” and we prefer to live walking or bike riding distance from as many things as possible.

I do enjoy visiting rural areas. I have very fond memories of all the time spent on my Grandfather’s dairy farm and growing up in small towns my whole childhood. But I have no desire to live in a small town or a rural community unless necessarily graced by God to do so.

Shayel made it very clear that she is going to be a city girl through and through…barring a drastic change in our lifestyle sometime soon I suppose. She was watching blue’s clues and they were asking where orange juice comes from - Shayel’s response - a glass. Hehe…now really, that was probably the simplistic response of a 4 year old but she was even surprised when they said it comes from oranges, much less that the oranges grow on trees.
