busy days, tired nights

Since we only have one car, I have been taking David to work many days and staying in Loveland with the girls. This has led to some seriously homesickness on my part. Some days last week, we spent upwards of 4 hours at the park.

Then came the weekend. Saturday was spent riding the kiddie train, taking the trolly to old town, ice cream, splashing in the fountain, visiting the historic Catholic church in old town *or the wedding place as Shayel has dubbed it*, riding the trolly home (in other words, hours outside in the hot hot hot sun). Sunday was spent at a local park in the hot hot hot sun having a bbq and “all church summer olympics” (Shayel had a blast in spite of not really getting to play any of the games and I tried to keep myself and Aliyah in the shade). Today, we went to the Loveland Library Summer Reading Program kickoff complete with mounted police, pets, agility trained dogs, raptors, service dogs and more…all in the hot hot hot dusty sun, then off to the park…thankfully in the hot hot hot shade, then off to lunch with dad and swimming at a friend’s condo with another friend.

Mommy is BEAT. Tomorrow will be coffee and story time, then probably more play at the hot hot hot shady park, then I think we shall take the rest of tomorrow and all of Wednesday OFF. We shall stay in our non AC house and feel it broil us but we will at least recover from sunburn and exhaustion as we veggitate. It will be in the 90s outside, and in the 80s inside but at least I will not have to slather on sunblock 4 times in as many hours. Shayel will watch too much TV and play too much on the computer and will likely be naked and Aliyah will walk unproductively around the house with various clothing items on her head and around her neck, probably also naked and I will read brain candy….and there shall be no guilt as I lay on the couch in my underwear and a tanktop in front of the fan that will be recirculating hot air.

That is all.

ohh that sounds tiring! Could you possibly find a window a/c unit for your house?

At one point we had this incredibly hot upper north/west facing apartment. - UG - We spent a lot of time our first summer there in the bathroom so my oldest (then my only) could play in the cool water in the tub while I spritzed myself with a water bottle in front of the fan. We also spent a lot of time at the play area in the mall. *laugh*
We eventually added a window unit and then spent most of our time home in that one room. Heat sure does wear a person out.
    Make lots of lemonade!!
